Now that Brady and Carter are getting bigger, they definitely keep us on our toes. We had a fun week that was very memorable. Brady is very lucky to be able to spend so much time with his cousin, aunt, and grandparents. Here are some pictures of our adventures this past week down in South Carolina.
Across the street from Barefoot Landing is the "Shark Store." From the moment that we drove by it, the boys could not wait to cross the threshold of the shark's jaws to get into the store. Karen was just thankful that we didn't leave with a hermit crab (yuck!).
Buried in the sand. Every day Brady wanted to be buried in the sand. Some days he was just buried waist deep, others he had a merman tail or even a kayak built around his torso. He didn't even try to get out, he just sat there!
Brady absolutely loved the waves this year at the beach! He would sit on the edge of the ocean and just let them knock him over. He was not afraid of them at all!
Brady was like a fish in the water this year. He loved swimming around the pools with his water wings on. Do we have another Michael Phelps on our hands?
A new favorite pastime...cutting! The boys love cutting. I wish we had counted the hours that they spent cutting up paper with their scissors. There were little scraps of paper all over the beach house for the entire week. They couldn't get enough of it!
One evening we took the boys down to the kiddie rides at Broadway at the Beach. The racecars were definitely a favorite of both boys. They loved being whipped around the corners. Last year they liked this ride, but they had to ride it with their Papas, this year they could ride it by themselves!
Brady posed for some great pictures down at the beach the evening before we left. Most of them turned out okay. Maybe we'll get a great piece of artwork out of one of them.
Move over, Danny Tanner! Brady and Carter both enjoyed helping to sweep the kitchen in the beach house before we left.
Inherited trait?
We think that it is particularly funny that both boys relax in this position. Papa Busche puts his arms in the same position when he is relaxing as well.
Okay...so I mentioned him only once in this blog, but since he was so much a part of our vacation, I had to include Michael Phelps! We spent every night watching him swim in the Summer Olympics. Go Michael!
