20/30 Vision

Brady had his first eye doctor's appointment last week. I was at the eye doctor for my annual eye exam and asked when I should bring in Brady. He told me that if he knows his letters, he should have his eyes checked. Turns out that Brady has amazing vision - better than 20/20...20/30! We also discovered that he is not color blind, has "amazing pupils", and has good depth perception. He also inherited an astigmatism from Brad and myself. The eye does change, so this could correct itself over time, or Brady could need glasses between the ages of 8-13 in order to correct it for him. Apparently, if you do nothing to correct an astigmatism you force your eyes to work harder which makes them worse in the long run. If you adjust your eyes to 20/20 vision, your eyes can compensate for this change during these year of development and he could have perfect vision without glasses for the rest of his life. Hopefully, he will take after Brad and have better vision than me!
