On our way out to Illinois, we stopped in South Bend, Indiana for the night. The little side trip to the University of Notre Dame was fun and relaxing. My parents were driving out the same day as us and pushed through the long drive to stay with us out there. The weather turned out to be perfect, and we ate dinner at an Irish pub across the street from the main campus gate. I know that we get to spend a lot of time with my parents, but somehow, being on vacation with them is more special. We were so happy that we could spend this time with them relaxing in South Bend.
For those of you unfamiliar with "Touchdown Jesus", he was the reason for our trip out here. Apparently you can see him from inside the football stadium over the end zone with his arms raised above his head. Touchdown! Fighting Irish!
