Capon Springs - day 1

So I have decided to break our Capon weekend into three separate posts; one for each day.  The weekend began on Friday.  The Bliven family had to "punt" because Brady had neglected to bring home his take home folder with the annoucement that Friday was school picture day.  We ended up shuttling Brady 45 minutes to and from school in the morning before we could leave so that we could document pre K with the annual school portrait.

Then it was off to Brad's parents' house in WV to drop off Cooper for the weekend.  We only had a brief chance to visit before we jetted off to Capon Springs for the rest of the weekend.  Of course, it wasn't until we got into the car and started driving there that the rain began...and continued.

Good thing I bought everyone in the family a new umbrella for the rainy weekend.  Brady was very excited to use his new zebra umbrella, and it was a huge hit (especially with Carter).

As you can see, it was a beautiful weekend, and the leaves were at their peak.  We spent the afternoon unpacking and greeting all the Capon visitors for the weekend.  They decided to demolish the library before we got there, and the game room had a (scary) leak in the roof because of all the rain.  It will be exciting to see how different the main house is after the addition is complete.

We then spent most of the afternoon in the playhouse.  Thank goodness the rain finally let up later in the weekend...I just can't spend too much time in that playhouse - not very cheery, except for the loud screams and crashing toys within.

Stay tuned to hear how Saturday shaped up!
