A Day at the Beach

Since we are finally on spring break, we couldn't wait to enjoy some sun and relaxation. So we headed to the beach...where else? We took a day trip down to VA Beach for some surf, sand, sun, and Guadalajara's. When we visit VA Beach, we also like to stop at a few nostaligic locations that bring back some good memories of when we lived there.

Our first stop (as always) is Guadalajara's. I had a gift certificate from my birthday (thanks, Jennie!) that we had to use...a perfect excuse to make the 4 hour journey. I tried to take some pictures of the food. Brad's Pork Carnitas came out okay, but my Mexican Pizza just looks like, well...you decide. Either way, it was all yummy, and we left stuffed!

After lunch we stopped at Target to get a few items (and to reminice) and then cruised the oceanfront before heading to the north beaches to do a little digging. It was super windy out there, but thankfully the sun was shining. Brady had a great time running on the sand (there was nobody there) and making a huge mess of himself in the sand. He even drew a circle where we could dig through the Earth...didn't really happen.

A trip to VABeach is not complete without a trip to Jungle Golf. They raised their prices a crazy amount this year, and it cost us almost $30 for the three of us to play 18 holes of mini-golf...in the "off-season"! We still had a great time and Brad and Brady both got a few holes-in-one!

We then visited the old police academy obstacle course where Brad spent many hours training to be a police officer. Brad even jumped the fence and the wall, and Brady tried his best on the ropes and carrying the dead weight. It's really amazing that a decade passed so quickly. We don't feel like we've been gone so long.

I bet it made Brad feel good that he could still do that! Go Brad!
