When my brother and sister-in-law went to the beach, their friend, Lisa, took amazing pictures of them and the kids down by the beach. I try to get the most out of my point and shoot camera, but there are just some thing that a nicer camera can do that mine just cannot...not matter how artsy fartsy I try to be they just don't come out like this.

Hey Karen, not that you asked ;) but some tips for getting better shots of the kids, even with a point and shoot: 1) Get down low. Always on the same eye level with the kids. 2) Turn off the flash - when shooting in daylight, or any sort of light really, keep your flash turned off. 3) Keep shooting. Take lots and lots of pictures to get a few really really good keepers. INvest in a large memory card.
Hope this helps :)
