Blizzard of 2010 - Round 2!

In case the first 30 inches weren't enough, we got another blizzard only days after the first one hit. The second one brought about another 10 inches of snow to the area and completely buried us in. The road conditions were even worse this time around because there was nowhere to plow the new snow that had fallen. It definitely sealed the deal that we were off of school for the entire week.

My parents came to stay with us for the second blizzard since they had lost power with the first one. They were predicting more power outages with the second storm because of the high winds that came with it. Some news stations called it a "snowicane" because it was snow with hurricane like winds. It caused huge drifting and road closures around Frederick County. It was nice having my parents here for three days. We made cookies, did a puzzle, read books, shoveled snow, and played Mario on the Wii (of course).

We made a batch of peanut butter cookies. Brady helped out just long enough so he could lick the batter.

During the first storm we thought that this was a lot of snow...until the second one...

...now we know!

We aren't out of the woods yet. I just checked the weather forecast, and just when we are about to head back to school on Tuesday, they are calling for another 4-8 inches. Where will they put it?!?!
