Brady Turns 7! May the Force Be With Us!

Brady's seventh birthday was held at Adventure Park USA and his theme was Star Wars!  Though we kind of gravitated towards the "Dark Side" on this one because everything was Darth Vader.  Here is Brady with his cake that is covered with his Star Wars action figures...a great way to customize a cake without paying an arm and a leg for it!

The black drawstrings bags were the party favor.  I filled them with snacks and goodies for after the party.  I try to make sure that my party favors aren't a bunch of junk bags that all go in the trash when the go home.  My art teacher friend, Tina, helped me make the Darth stencil and then I spent hours stenciling them on the black bags.  They turned out amazing!  I filled the bags with water bottles, Goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, and one or two good pieces of candy.  They looked so cute wearing them out of the party.

Brady's favorite activity of the day was playing laser tag with all his friends.  When you can't have a real light saber battle, what is the next best thing?  Laser Tag!  Carter's expression says it all!

The birthday boy also got a special Darth Vader stenciled t-shirt!

The night before Brady's "real" birthday, we had his grandparents and aunts and uncles send us a bunch of reasons why they love Brady.  Each one got written on a note card and hung from a balloon.  While he was sleeping, we filled his bedroom ceiling with the balloons so he could wake up to all the wonderful notes.  When the balloons were all dead, we took the note cards and bound them for him to keep forever!

One of his special gifts this year was a few vintage comic books from Daddy's collection.  He doesn't really appreciate them now, but hopefully he'll hold on to them, not destroy them, and value them later on, too!
