Rear-Ended = Car Upgrade!

Now that we are months removed from this accident, I now can write about it with a much more positive spin.  Early in December, I was driving to get Brady from the bus and I had Brooke in the backseat.  We were driving in downtown Walkersville and I stopped at the daycare center for the bus to let the kids out, when BAM!  rear-ended!  Thankfully, nobody was hurt (even though it was Brooke's second accident in less than three months), and it really didn't feel that bad.

I have been rear-ended a couple times in this car, and they are always able to fix it.  The difference this time around is that when you are driving around a 2001 Honda Civic in 2011, it doesn't take much to total it.  The frame was bent, and the cost to repair it was a few hundred more than the car was worth.

The settlement was nice, and we were able to work our finances so that we could buy a new car and pay out less per month than we were before (a financial genius, I am!).  We were planning on replacing the Civic at the end of the summer anyway, but we weren't going to get as much as the settlement check when we went to sell it.  Though it wasn't on our time, we had JUST sent in our last payment for the van, things still seemed to work out, and we still only have one car payment.

The 2001 Honda Civic was replaced by a 2012 Hyundai Sonata!  (I can't believe we haven't taken a picture of it yet).  Check out the stock pic below.  We have dubbed it "The Fancy Car"...cause we are so FANCY!
