So now that Pinterest is in my life, my decorations were out of control for this little party. Even though we didn't invite anyone but family, that still means four grandparents, four aunts and uncles, and five cousins, plus the four of us! When did our family get so big? For Brady's first birthday we only had four grandparents, two aunts and uncles, and the two of us!
I loved this banner of Brooke's first year. One picture of her from every month! Talk about time flying!
The tissue paper flowers were totally from Pinterest. It was crazy what you could buy the kits for at Party City when all it is is tissue paper! The party theme was cupcakes. For our craft, everyone painted a ceramic pot that was a cupcake bottom and at the end of the party planted flowers in them. They turned out adorable. The pink polka dotted plastic table clothes I picked up at a bargain store in PA for only $2 a piece!

Here's what the main room looked like. The leaf went in the kitchen table to accommodate all the kids. Notice Brooke's seat of honor in the high chair at the head of the table. Also, another tissue paper flower!
Here's the favor table. The gorgeous poster (16x20) of the birthday girl came free with our portrait session at Portrait Innovations. Everybody got a framed picture of Brooke as a parting gift.
At the top of the table you can see the two photo books that I made for Brooke this year. One is an ABC alphabet book with pictures of her and our family. The other is a family album so she can see pictures of all her family with baby Brooke. I made one of these scrapbooks for Brady when he was little...the hard way...pre-photobook era! The pink album is a scrapbook that was a gift from two of Brad's students. We added pictures to it throughout the year. The scrapbook in the middle is one that I made for the party. Everyone wrote Brooke a little message for her birthday. It is going to be a sweet reminder of this special day.
